Good morning homeschool mommy friends! I hope you're enjoying the more relaxed pace of summer. As much as I love the heat (yes, I do), the last week or so of cooler temps and storms has been so refreshing...lots of time spent sitting on the patio watching the storms roll in and the corn grow. It makes me happy. As we begin to turn our minds toward planning for the upcoming school year, it's easy to get caught up in all the doing...the schedules, catalogs and planning can take on a life of their own! Let me encourage you to set aside equal time to wait on the LORD for His perfect plan for your year. Isaiah 40:31 assures us that waiting on the LORD will bring strength and refreshment from weariness. Amazing curriculum, structured co-ops and extra curricular activities are great, but which ones are right for YOUR family? Which will best help train up your children in the way they should go, or according to their God-given bent? Seeking Him first will keep your feet pointed in the right direction and allow you to mount up with wings like eagles, soaring high above weariness, burnout and frustration. In the busyness of the coming months, don't forget to schedule in white space...time on your calendar with nothing planned...time to sit and watch storms roll in...time to reflect...time to just BE. Don't let the planning and fall schedules rob you of your time to breath. It's in those quiet moments that God often speaks the loudest. Your leadership team is praying for YOU as you begin your school year. If there's anything we can do to help, please don't hesitate to reach out. You are loved!
